Two bonus modules
One for couples who've done this before. One for the week someone goes back to work, which is the day most arrangements quietly stop working.

Be honest for a second
You've signed up for the birthing class. There's a stack of books on your nightstand about what to expect, week by week. You know how big the baby is this week.
All of that prepares you for the baby. Very little of it prepares the two of you.
And the relationship is where so many couples feel it most. Somewhere between the night feeds and the "did you buy more diapers" texts, they start passing each other in the hallway like roommates. Two tired people running a household, missing each other.
This Playbook is the prep for that part. A guided set of conversations you have together now, while you both have the sleep and the space to have them well, so you meet your baby as partners and stay that way.
What actually happens after baby
The thing that drives the drop is not the fighting. It's the warmth thinning out.
There's a lot of research on what happens to couples after a first baby, and one finding surprised me enough that I rebuilt how I teach this.
Nobody decides to stop being affectionate. You're both exhausted, you're both busy, and one week you notice you haven't said anything kind out loud in five days.
The division of labor matters, and we spend a whole session on it. But on its own, it explains less than you'd think.
So this course is built around the thing that actually goes missing, and then around the arrangement that protects it.
Here's exactly what's inside
Before you start
One for the birthing partner, one for the other. Ten minutes each, on your own, because a few of these questions land better if you've met them before your partner asks.
Then eight sessions you do together
The small moments the whole thing is built on, and the habit to start tonight rather than when the baby comes.
The three kinds of work in a home, who's carrying what, and how to divide it before anyone is keeping score.
Your pattern, named, while you're both calm enough to look at it. Plus what you'll say to stop one at 11pm.
How you'll make decisions, ask for help, and say no.
How you were each raised, what you want to keep, what you're determined to break. And the method for settling the parenting questions you can't answer yet.
Family, visitors, opinions, and the boundaries you'll need in the first six weeks.
The three practical ones. Shifts, childcare costs, who takes what time off, and what happens when someone goes back.
What each of you needs in the room, recovery, and what intimacy looks like on the other side.
Plus
One for couples who've done this before. One for the week someone goes back to work, which is the day most arrangements quietly stop working.
Every session comes with a worksheet, and every session ends with something written down.
Scripture and prompts alongside the main material. Use it or leave it. The course works either way.
What you walk away with
One document the two of you build across the eight sessions.
It's the thing you'll pull up at two in the morning in month three, when you can't remember what you agreed and neither of you is in any state to renegotiate.
Is this for us?
It also works if this isn't your first. There's a bonus module written specifically for second and third-time parents, because almost all prenatal material is written as though everyone is new.
The honest part
If we haven't met yet, I'm Hannah, a licensed marriage and family therapist. I work with postpartum couples, and I have two daughters.
I knew all of it before my first was born. I had read the research. I was already a couples therapist. I could have given you this exact course.
And I still spent a year in my own house feeling like a roommate.
Knowing it and building it are two different things. What I needed was not more information. It was somebody sitting us down and asking the questions in the right order, early, while we still had the energy to answer them.
That's what this is.

Frequently asked questions
Any time in pregnancy. Second and third trimester are ideal, early enough that you have the energy and late enough that it feels real. It also works after the baby comes, and plenty of couples will find it then.
Twenty to forty minutes, including the conversation. The video part is short.
Yes. The exercises need two people. The solo modules are the only parts you do separately.
Good. That's the point of doing it now rather than in month four. The course is built to handle disagreement, and several sessions are specifically about what to do when you want different things.
Most couples who take this are good. The couples who struggle after a baby are mostly couples who were fine beforehand, which is exactly why the preparation goes unused.
Forever and always.
No. This is education and coaching, which means I can work with couples anywhere, not just California. If something comes up that needs more, I'll tell you and help you find the right person.
There's a Faith Companion included, with scripture and prompts alongside the main material. Use it or leave it. The course works either way.
